Hey all! Well, I just returned from a Caribbean cruise and I’m
exhausted…but in a good way. In a way that reminds me how blessed I am to have
had the time off work to relax and spend good times with friends.

I made a few vlogs in the Caribbean that I’ll be posting
this week. I’m not promising they’re great. They’re done very much on the fly,
but I really wanted to share some of the awesome places with you. I really did
miss interacting with you all last week!

When I studied abroad, I spent part of my spring break on the coast of Spain. Yeah, I could handle going there again. 🙂 Or Greece!! Those aren't quite tropical locations, but they do involve beaches.
We almost went to Greece on our honeymoon. It looks so pretty, doesn't it? And Spain is a definite place on my wishlist of travel locations.
Yay, vacation time! I've been wanting to go anywhere on the East coast. I'd go more for the history, but they've got beaches there, too!
I'd love to go to the East Coast too. The only EC beach I've been to was in Florida, but I've heard the beaches in other locations–like the Carolinas–are gorgeous as well.

It's unfortunate that I can't tan, since I live in Arizona, but you know what? I'm learning to be content in my own skin. But I'll still make fun of my whiteness just to prevent someone else from doing it first. 😉

OK, favorite beach vacation: When we lived in Turkey, we camped on the Mediterranean Sea. Right where we camped was the ruins of a castle — and then out in the water, about a mile from shore, was the ruins of another castle with a wonderful fable attached to it about how a king built the castle to protect his daughter from a prophesied death by snake bite, but a merchant unknowingly brought a snake to the island castle when he/she brought produce (or something) to the castle and the princess was bitten and died.
There's your Turkish fable for the day.

I grew up in Vancouver where there were beaches upon beaches. Sigh. I miss Vancouver.
I'm planning on a wee vaycay to a Starbucks in Pheonix. No "beach", but we can compare whiteness.
I had no idea Vancouver had beaches. When I think of Canada, I suppose the word "tundra" comes to mind instead. 😉

I want to be there!!! It's beautiful. My husband and I took a trip to Hawaii for our ten year wedding anniversary last year. It was great.
Aw, that's so awesome, Julie! My husband and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon, but would love to visit some of the other islands someday. We said we'd go back for our 10th, but we'll see once we get there. 🙂
Thanks for the vlog. I would also like to go to St. Thomas, and/or Hawaii. I have lived in Hawaii for a short time, but not quite long enough to be able to enjoy all there is to see and do. Hopefully again sometime though.
Wow, you lived in Hawaii?! That's so cool. It would really be such a beautiful place to live, but I don't know if I'd like feeling so cut off from the rest of the world since you'd have to fly to get anywhere. But I really want to go back there someday to visit. 🙂

Magen's Bay was one of my favorite places the whole trip. It was so incredibly peaceful. I could sit in that water for hours. But then I'd roast, so I didn't. ;P

I know I've heard you talk about wanting to go there some time. I hope you get to! You would LOVE the kayaking, hiking, etc. on Kauai, and I'm sure a lot of the other islands have that too.

How neat, Heidi! If I can answer any questions for you, I will (not that I'm that knowledgeable now, but hey…). We went to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Barbados, and St. Maarten.
Looks like a super relaxing vacation..one that I need right now! 😀 I would have to say that my favorite beach/island vacation has been Maui so far. Billy and I would love to go back to Hawaii some day. There's nothing like the sound of waves drifting you off to sleep…
I'll bet you need a vacation, what with being so busy with a newborn and heading back to work! If we ever go to Maui, I'll know who to ask for tips about what to do there.
I've been to Megan's Bay in St. Thomas! We took a cruise that left San Juan and went to St. Thomas, Barbados, Aruba and Dominica. Megan's Bay is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in the world (at least that's what the cruise director told us)! It all looks and sounds so wonderful.
We are hoping to get away to the Caribbean this winter – I don't even care where we go, I just want to get away with my hubby and enjoy some relaxation. 🙂 Looking forward to future installments of your vacation.
