Confession time.
I watch The Bachelor.
*silent cringe*
OK, so before you all start telling me what a horrible choice I make every time I turn the TV on to watch a train wreck in progress (at least I can admit that much, right?), I’ll get to my actual point.
The Bachelor features some of the coolest dates ever: amazingly romantic concerts, picnics in places with limited access (like by the Hollywood sign…so cool), and yes, adventure dates.
You know, like zip-lining and jumping from helicopters in the ocean and hiking it up the Golden Gate Bridge.
So here’s a Bachelor-inspired question: If you had enough courage, money, and time, what extreme sport would you most like to try?
I think I’d pick skydiving. Remember the superhero post and how I picked flying as my power? Yeah, so I think skydiving would be as close as I’d ever get.
Sure, I’m sure I’d scream the whole way down, but what an amazing ride…
What about you?
If I had the courage, I'd jump out of an airplane. Why? Because low-risk me would find that so scary that most anything else I might be called upon to do would seem mild by comparison. When fear and doubts began to gnaw away at me, I'd be able to say, "No biggie. I jumped out of a airplane, so I can certainly handle this."
Good point!
Keli, I absolutely LOVE your reasoning here!
I'd either sky dive or I'd climb Everest. That just feels cool!
Ooo, climbing Everest. Didn't think of that one. Neato!
I'll go skydiving with you. Or paragliding.
I used to be addicted to that show btw. Just ran out of time for it.

Paragliding sounds like so much fun. Is that what it's called when you're over the ocean? I'm probably more likely to actually do that one.
And yeah, I don't really have time for it either…
It'd be nice to have the time to train and complete an Ultra marathon. That's what I'd do…or a triathalon.
You would. 😛
I love that you say if I had enough courage. 'Cause that's totally what it would come down to. I think I'd love to paraglide. Skydiving would also be incredible but someone would have to push me out of the plane to get me to do it, I think!
I think that would be the case for me too! Ha. We can go together and push each other out…just kinda leap together. And scream together. And pray together…you get the idea.
Is zip lining an extreme sport? I'd so love to do that.
And if I hadn't been in that stupid car accident a few years back (we were rear-ended) so that my neck no longer likes it when I run, I think running a triathlon would be so, so fun! Or maybe I could do a Ultra marathon with Ruth!
I'm not sure…maybe it depends on how high up you zipline from. I think it would be a blast too! And boo on you not being able to run anymore! 🙁
Ziplining is definitely an extreme worth doing! I had the opportunity to zipline when I was in Costa Rica. We were so high you couldn't see the ground below.
Not sure if it ranks as an extreme sport but I would love to do speed skiing. How fun would it be to zig zag down a mountain over powdery snow, with the occasional free-falling leap into mid-air? If only I could be so brave…
I've actually never been regular skiing, but this sounds like so much fun, Barb!
I've always wanted to learn the flying trapeze. Phil got to do this on a recent episode of Modern Family. Very funny!
Wow, that would be totally awesome! Another way to fly! 🙂
